As for non-compliance related to safety in the activities of hydrocarbon companies in general, the penalties could amount to $4,342,952,898.
This update represents a 591 percent increase compared to the previous values, which had been in force since 2023. The new scale of fines will come into effect from the date of publication of decree 53/2025 in the Official Bulletin.
As of today, the minimum fine is set at $3,257,222, while the maximum fine will vary based on the severity and type of non-compliance.
