According to the Argentine News Agency (NA), the arrest followed a series of operations conducted yesterday by the Public Prosecutor's Office and the provincial police. The operations were carried out at the request of the prosecutor for Narcocriminality, Silvia Moreira, with authorization from Guarantees Judge Lucas Yancarelli, and with the intervention of the Anti-Drug Department. During the raids in the Toma 7 de Mayo and Almafuerte neighborhoods, 85.1 grams of cocaine hydrochloride were seized in one home and 46 grams of the same substance in another. In addition, 20 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms, cannabis seedlings and buds, 600,000 pesos in cash, mobile phones, and a precision scale were confiscated. Moreira stated that the seized drugs will be analyzed to determine their composition, and based on the results, new measures will be evaluated in the investigation. The case began on December 16, after the Neuquén Ministry of Health issued an alert for three cases of drug consumption with atypical symptoms, all involving male patients.
