Police Involved in the Murder of Young Man in Moreno

A female police officer is accused of murdering a 24-year-old man during a fight over a debt in Moreno. The tragic incident took place on Wednesday, January 22, in the Buenos Aires locality, when the victim, Franco Nicolás Sánchez, argued with Miguel Sosa, the brother of police officer Laura Sosa.

During the fight, Laura Sosa approached the confrontation and, according to the police report, a shot was fired with a Bersa Pro Series 13 pistol, hitting Sánchez in the chest and resulting in his death at the scene.

Subsequently, when National Gendarmerie personnel arrived to conduct the relevant investigations, a group of approximately 150 people, identified with the Sánchez Transport company and the gypsy community, attacked the authorities and burned two buses owned by Sosa. In response, police officers arrested the brother and father of the victim and took them to the 1st Police Station of Moreno.

After the disturbances, the group moved to the precinct peacefully demanding the release of the detainees. Later, UFI 3 of Moreno notified the detained individuals of the case and granted them freedom. So far, no decision has been made regarding the role of the female police officer in Sánchez's murder, as investigations continue to determine whether the shot was intentional or accidental.
