Teen with Brutally Assaulted in Argentina

In the Gervasio Pavón area of Morón, a 14-year-old girl with autism named Quimey was the victim of a brutal attack involving bullying and physical violence during a corso (carnival parade). This case, which came to light after her mother made a public complaint, has once again put the spotlight on the lack of protection for minors from youth gangs and the persecution of people with disabilities. According to the family's account, Quimey was with her siblings when she was approached by a group of teenagers, allegedly including two adults. Without warning, they grabbed her by the hair and threw her to the ground. They then repeatedly kicked her until she lost consciousness and began convulsing. Even the victim's 16-year-old brother was assaulted and pushed away when he tried to intervene. Although the physical injuries were not life-threatening, the psychological consequences are severe: Quimey suffers from panic attacks and severe sleep disorders following the trauma. A complaint was filed at the 4th Police Station in Morón, and the prosecutor's office is now involved. Valeria, the girl's mother, detailed the ordeal her daughter had been through beforehand: “They call her 'silly', they mock her on Instagram, and they constantly attack her because of her condition.” The victim was urgently taken to the Posadas Hospital by the SAME emergency service, where she was kept under observation for over 12 hours. “I need this situation to be known so that it doesn't happen again,” the mother concluded.
