Police Violence in Merlo: Graciela Ojeda Reports Abuse

Graciela reported being beaten by the police without a detention order at the police station. The woman resisted being arrested when officers attempted to enter her home without the appropriate court order. She is now accused of minor injuries, despite being handcuffed at the time when the officer who knocked her down claimed that she had hit her.

In the middle of the night, officers from the Pompeya (Merlo) police station left Graciela exposed at the police station, causing her significant physical discomfort due to the cold. A neighbor corroborated the woman's version of events, explaining that the police attempted to enter her property without a court order, taking Graciela into custody for resisting, leaving her daughter alone in the house and keeping her isolated throughout the night.

Graciela, a member of the GuaranĂ Sapukay Pora Community, suffered multiple blows from the Merlo police in the early hours of February 13. Meanwhile, her daughter was left helpless in their home. The Director of Human Rights of the Municipality of Merlo, Anabella Osorio, is in charge of verifying the injuries and hearing Graciela's account.

The woman asked neighbors who witnessed the incident to come forward and provide information to disprove the fabricated case against her. Graciela described a nightmare night where she was mistreated by police authorities, despite there being no detention order against her.
