A truck driver who attempted to ram the gate of a prison in Mendoza to free a relative arrested for gender violence has been charged with aggravated damage, as confirmed by the Public Prosecutor's Office of the province. The incident occurred on Sunday, October 27, at noon and was recorded in a video that was shared on social media, showing the truck driver trying to break the security gate of the San Felipe prison to take his cousin out of jail.

In response to this situation, the Specialized Crimes Prosecutor's Office reported that Manuel Díaz has been charged with aggravated damage and that his detention is underway, with the consequent transfer to the Provincial Penitentiary. During the incident, the man claimed that his relative was unjustly detained while he attempted to open the gate with his large truck.

After the confrontation, security forces managed to detain the individual and conducted a breathalyzer test on-site. Additionally, the truck used in the escape attempt, a Mercedes Benz 710 model, was seized, as well as a cell phone that the assailant had with him.
