CNPC Visits Mendoza for Investment Talks

Authorities from CNPC Chuanqing Drilling Engineering Company Limited met with Mendoza energy officials to discuss potential investments in the hydrocarbons sector. The visit aims to explore opportunities for establishing a service base in the province.


CNPC Visits Mendoza for Investment Talks

A delegation from CNPC Chuanqing Drilling Engineering Company Limited (CCDC) visited the province of Mendoza to meet with local authorities and explore possible investments in the hydrocarbon industry. CCDC, a company with extensive experience and a global presence in 30 countries, has expressed interest in establishing services for the sector in the region.

During the meeting, which took place at ProMendoza, representatives from CCDC, such as Cao Xiao, Lin Ping, Pij Mingjiang, Zhou Xufeng, Fei Jiegao, Li Yongpeng, and Fabio Bastidas, met with provincial officials, including the Undersecretary of Energy, Manuel Sánchez Bandini, the Director of Hydrocarbons, Lucas Erio, and the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Energy and Environment, Manuel López. From ProMendoza, Nicolás Piazza and Noelia de la Rosa were present.

During the meeting, the investment opportunities offered by Mendoza in the hydrocarbon sector, both conventional and unconventional, were presented. Sánchez Bandini highlighted CCDC's interest in establishing a headquarters in the province to provide services related to the oil industry. Fabio Bastidas, Deputy Manager of Business Development for Latin America, praised the local authorities' efforts to promote economic and industrial growth in Mendoza and expressed confidence that beneficial agreements would be reached for all parties.

In addition to the meeting at ProMendoza, the delegation also visited Chañares Herrados, in the Cuyana Basin, an area operated by Aconcagua Energía, one of the main oil producers in the province. CNPC is an international energy company operating in various fields, including exploration, oil and gas production, refineries, chemical products, and new materials in over 30 countries.

The exchange between CCDC and the Mendoza authorities aimed to identify concrete opportunities for the establishment of specialized services in the region, which could enhance the local oil industry and open new perspectives for economic development.
