Argentine Vice President Arrives in Mendoza for Grape Harvest Festival

Vice President of the Nation, Victoria Villarruel, arrived in Mendoza province on Friday with a packed political and economic agenda that positions her as the central figure of the national government at the 2026 National Grape Harvest Festival. The head of the Senate landed after 1:00 PM at the Fourth Air Brigade and was received by the provincial government's Protocol Department. On Saturday morning, Villarruel will participate in the traditional breakfast of the Argentine Vitivinicultural Corporation (COVIAR) and subsequently in the lunch organized by Argentina's Wineries. The president of the Rural Society of the Uco Valley, Mario Leiva, stated: "We will take advantage of the Vice President's visit to raise awareness and highlight the critical situation of the Mendoza primary sector." To fulfill this commitment, Villarruel will have to travel more than 100 kilometers from the Grape Harvest Tribute in Godoy Cruz to the agricultural chamber. The Vice President's arrival comes amid the political tension she maintains with President Javier Milei, adding an extra political component to the festivities.
