The Minister of Energy and Environment of Mendoza, Jimena Latorre, participated in the Argentina-Texas Energy Summit 2024, an event organized by the Argentina-Texas Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Energy Workforce and Technology Council of the United States. The purpose of this meeting was to strengthen ties and exchange knowledge between Argentina and Texas, regions with large reserves of unconventional oil and gas.

During her intervention in the panel "Macroeconomics, Regulation, and Investment Environment", Latorre emphasized the importance of encouraging investments in Mendoza to capitalize on conventional production and explore new opportunities in renewable energy and mining. She highlighted the energy transition in the province, starting from the utilization of current resources.

Latorre mentioned the change in hydrocarbon policy in Mendoza aimed at increasing conventional production and exploring one-third of the Vaca Muerta basin in the region. She underscored the need to facilitate investments from smaller operators to strengthen conventional production in the province.

In this context, the minister emphasized that Mendoza is focused on diversifying investments in the energy sector, with particular interest in growth towards the north of Vaca Muerta. She highlighted that the province has significant resources to promote the energy transition.

The summit also included participation from energy industry representatives such as Karina Veras, Energy and Mining Officer at the U.S. Embassy, and Horacio Marín, CEO of YPF. Relevant topics for the sector were also addressed, seeking to promote the arrival of foreign investment in the Oil & Gas market in Argentina.

Regarding the opportunities offered by Mendoza, Latorre highlighted the regulatory, institutional, and fiscal incentives of the province, which facilitate investment in the energy sector. She pointed out the existence of free areas for exploration and exploitation concessions, as well as a continuous bidding model that provides investment opportunities in the market.

In summary, Jimena Latorre's participation in the Argentina-Texas Energy Summit 2024 reflects Mendoza's commitment to the energy transition and sustainable development, driving the diversification of investments in the sector to benefit the province and the country as a whole.
