In Corrientes, a tragic traffic accident was registered that resulted in the death of three people from La Plata. The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday on Route 14, specifically at kilometer 620, following the collision between a Peugeot Partner van and a freight truck.
According to police sources, the accident, which is being investigated as a triple negligent homicide, happened around 2:30 am. The family from La Plata traveling in the Peugeot Partner van was involved in a head-on collision with the truck, resulting in the deaths of Alcides Giménez González, Cintia Paola Aquino Melgarejo (23 years old), and Xiomara Belén Melgarejo (16), all of Paraguayan nationality and en route to Asunción.
The driver of the truck, identified as Ariel Cuba Ñor, 40 years old and residing in Florencio Varela, has been charged. The freight vehicle ended up overturned on the side of the road, and it is suspected that the accident may have originated from an irregular overtaking maneuver, although this possibility is still under investigation.
