Belgrano de Córdoba put in a solid performance to thrash Atlético Rafaela 3-0 and advance to the Round of 16 of the Copa Argentina.
The goalscorers were forwards Emiliano Rigoni, Lautaro Gutiérrez, and Lucas Passerini, with the latter two converting from the penalty spot.
Rigoni's goal came in the 37th minute of the first half, largely due to luck. He found the ball inside the box after a mistake by Gutiérrez and scored comfortably.
In the second half, the "Córdoba Pirate" could have quickly put the game away from the penalty spot, but Lucas Zelarayán wasted the chance with a weak shot that hit the post and went out.
However, Belgrano did convert to make it 2-0 in the 27th minute of the second half, with a well-taken penalty into the corner.
When it seemed there would be no more drama, another penalty was awarded to Belgrano, which Passerini converted in the 92nd minute to seal the 3-0 victory.
This solid win allows Belgrano de Córdoba to advance to the Round of 16, where they will face Gimnasia y Esgrima de Jujuy, who eliminated Central Córdoba de Santiago del Estero on penalties.
