In the fifth round of the Apertura, Talleres de Córdoba defeated Gimnasia de Mendoza 2-1 at home, securing a spot in the playoff zone in Zone A. Both of Talleres' goals were scored by Valentín Dávila, who came off the bench, while Agustín Modica scored for the Mendoza team. The young Dávila, who started on the bench but came on in the 17th minute for Bruno Barticciotto, scored a spectacular volley to open the scoring and notch his first goal in Primera División. Just as it seemed the team would go into halftime with the lead, the 'Lobo mendocino' equalized through Agustín Modica, who only had to push the ball into the net after a pass from Facundo Lencioni and a great play by Ulises Sánchez.
