He emphasized the importance of ensuring constitutionality and defending federalism in his role as a supreme judge. Regarding his upcoming retirement, announced by the government of Javier Milei, Maqueda mentioned that he was surprised by the way his retirement was communicated and that he was not notified in advance.

In relation to female representation in the Court, Maqueda stressed the relevance of ensuring the presence of women on the bench to achieve a balance in its composition. Additionally, he mentioned the court's workload, indicating that they receive between 10,000 and 20,000 cases per year, resolving about 80 cases of great relevance.

Regarding the conviction of Cristina Kirchner, Maqueda stated that her status as a former president does not make her case extraordinary. He emphasized the importance of finding dialogue paths to resolve institutional conflicts, noting that not all cases can reach the Supreme Court through an extraordinary appeal.

On the urgent and necessary decrees, the magistrate mentioned that, although they are exceptional tools, Congress has attempted to limit their use as they have been necessary in various circumstances. Maqueda concluded by highlighting the importance of prioritizing institutional dialogue in times of polarization, stating that it is essential to find institutional pathways to resolve conflicts that affect society.
