Examination of Nurse's Psychological Profile in Trial

In the trial for the deaths of babies at the Neonatal Hospital of Córdoba, both official and private experts described the psychological profile of nurse Brenda Aguero. Before the 7th Chamber of the province, the experts pointed out that Aguero shows a lack of empathy towards the suffering of others and exhibits traits of a narcissistic and psychopathic personality. Furthermore, it was highlighted that the accused sought to be visible, but there was a clear lack of connection with the victims, despite her closeness to the families in the hospital.

During the trial, about 13 photographs seized from Aguero's cell phone were presented as evidence, in which animals are seen treated like babies, hospitalized minors, and even images of her showing her belly. Another emphasized point was the nurse's relationship with her mother, indicating an exaggerated and uncommon attachment.

Psychological analyses were conducted in October 2022, and in January of this year, the report was extended following Aguero's statement before the Court. The official experts involved were Verónica Martínez Goyena and Matías Ambrosio, psychologists; Sebastián Nigro and Gabriel Brandán, psychiatrists; and Mónica Pagliero, social worker. In the case of the experts presented by Aguero, psychologist Fabiana Boer, psychiatrist Raúl Quiroga, and social worker Constanza Doffo participated.
