Central defender Franco Paredes has been officially presented as the eighth reinforcement of Club Atlético Independiente in the current transfer market. Coming from Sarmiento, Paredes successfully passed the necessary medical exams and joined the team under the direction of Julio Vaccari starting this Monday.
Independiente acquired 50% of Paredes' rights for 500 thousand dollars, only disbursing 40 thousand of the US currency due to a debt of River Plate with the red club. This new signing joins the team just before the transfer window closes and will be available for the next match against Talleres de Córdoba.
With this addition, Coach Vaccari has a new option in defense, especially important in light of Nicolás Freire's injury. Paredes is expected to compete for a starting spot with Kevin Lomónaco and Sebastián Vázquez, while Juan Fedorco may leave the club in search of more playing opportunities.
