Workers of the printing company Anselmo Morvillo, located in Avellaneda, commemorate today 66 days of occupation of the factory in defense of their jobs. The company declared bankruptcy after abruptly announcing through WhatsApp messages the cessation of activities the following day. Since then, the workers have maintained the occupation in search of solutions.
Sebastián Rodríguez, General Secretary of the Internal Commission, reported that despite more than a month of claims to the Province of Buenos Aires, they have not yet received concrete responses. Court No. 12 allowed the workers to be the legitimate custodians of the machinery and facilities, as a result of their persistent struggle.
On April 30, the workers participated in the CGT mobilization in an independent column to denounce layoffs and economic cutbacks. They have also received invitations to attend events such as the Book Fair. They also plan to hold a march to the provincial government on May 14 in search of concrete responses.
Amid uncertainty about the future of the factory, the workers raise the possibility that the Province could acquire the company, recalling previous statements about the purchase of Aerolíneas Argentinas. They expressed their willingness to collaborate in the production of various materials and reiterated their call for government intervention to preserve jobs and restart productive activities at Anselmo Morvillo.
