The Minister of Transport of the Province of Buenos Aires, Martín Marinucci, 48 years old, was the victim of a violent assault on his birthday. The incident took place near the intersection of Avellaneda and Alsina, a few meters from a restaurant where he was celebrating with his wife and family in Ramos Mejía, La Matanza party.
During the robbery, at least four armed criminals approached Marinucci and his family, snatching his wife's handbag and hitting her before fleeing quickly. Security footage showed the presence of three minors during the assault.
The prosecutor José Maroto from La Matanza took charge of the case and conducted searches in Avellaneda, where a 16-year-old teenager was arrested and some stolen items were recovered, including Marinucci's wife's handbag. In one of the operations, a 9mm pistol with five rounds and clothing worn by the suspects was also found.
The criminals, who had previously been involved in other crimes, were described as wearing clothes similar to those of the Buenos Aires Provincial Police. Marinucci filed a complaint at the 2nd police station in Ramos Mejía, detailing that the assailants arrived in a dark Ford Focus. The minister, with a vast background in various companies and as a councilor, is currently the head of Trenes Argentinos Infraestructura and assumed the role of Minister of Transport in December 2024.
