Argentina Falls to Paraguay in Tight Match

Rodrigo Braña, former midfielder of the Argentina National Team between 2011 and 2013, shared his perspective on the current performance of the team managed by Lionel Scaloni. After the 2-1 defeat against Paraguay, Braña stated that he is not worried about the result because he believes that the national team is always present and functioning well.

Regarding the match against Paraguay, Braña mentioned that Gustavo Alfaro, the coach of the Paraguayan team, stands out for his meticulous preparation for each match. According to Braña, Alfaro anticipated that Argentina would have possession of the ball and planned accordingly.

Braña, who retired from professional football in 2019, briefly ventured into coaching in the youth team of Estudiantes de La Plata, the club with which he won the Copa Libertadores in 2009 as a player. He also served as an assistant coach to Leandro Desabato at the same club in 2020. Braña admitted that in his final stage as a player, he was more interested in coaching than playing, as he sought to implement ideas that he had enjoyed as a footballer.

In his statements on the radio program "Fútbol y Rosca," Braña pointed out that the current situation of the Argentina National Team deviates from what is normal in a national team, asserting that getting used to winning and facing defeats is an inherent part of the sport.
