Agustín Sant'Anna, after five months of recovery from meniscus surgery, is expected to return to training for River Plate. Coach Marcelo Gallardo looks forward to reintegrating him as he competes for his position with Fabricio Bustos.

Agustín Sant'Anna Set to Return to Training

The Uruguayan right-back Agustín Sant'Anna will receive medical clearance in the coming days to rejoin the training led by Marcelo Gallardo at River Plate. Sant'Anna has been out of the field for five months after undergoing surgery in July for a tear of the external meniscus in his right knee, following the match in which River defeated Tigre 3-1 on June 2.

On that occasion, despite being part of the bench, Sant'Anna did not play a single minute. His return will allow the Uruguayan player to demonstrate his footballing level, as the match against Tigre was the last one in which he participated. Even though he was called up by Gallardo, the full-back was on the bench twice, once in the 4-1 victory against Atlético Tucumán and once in the 1-0 win against Boca Juniors at La Bombonera.

Once Sant'Anna returns, he will compete for the right wing-back position with Fabricio Bustos at River Plate. He is currently in the final stages of his recovery and will have to push himself to the maximum to earn a place in the starting lineup and return to represent the club's colors on the field.
