Boca Juniors coach, Fernando Gago, decided not to call up Cristian Medina for tomorrow's match against Deportivo Riestra at home. Medina was involved in a scandal before the match against Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata in the quarter-finals of the Copa Argentina by informing his coach that he would not play just hours before the start of the match in Rosario.
In the previous matchup, where Boca defeated Gimnasia on penalties, Medina was on the bench because Gago had convinced him. However, this time the Argentine coach decided to return the gesture in the same way and called up Milton Delgado in his place.
"Fernando Gago ruled out Cristian Medina for tomorrow's match against Deportivo Riestra, at home," expressed a member of Boca's coaching staff. Gago's decision has surprised several fans of the team, who were expecting to see Medina in the starting lineup once again.
