Marco Senesi returns to the Argentina National Team

The Argentine defender of Bournemouth in England, Marco Senesi, will be called up by Lionel Scaloni for the upcoming double matchday of the South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. After two years and four months, Senesi will once again be part of an Argentina national team call-up.

In his last participation, Senesi played in the team that defeated Estonia 5-0 in an international friendly in June 2022. Currently, the defender from Entre Ríos is having a great performance with Bournemouth in the English Premier League. Recently, he contributed to the 2-0 victory over Arsenal and was highlighted as the team's standout performer by the club's supporters.

Additionally, compared to other central defenders in the top European leagues, Senesi stands out as the player with the most tackles or defensive actions. Although he was included in a call-up by Scaloni for a friendly tour in March of this year, an injury prevented him from participating at that time.

Thus, in November against Paraguay or Peru, Senesi will have the opportunity to make his official debut wearing the Argentina national team jersey.
