Franco Colapinto's Formula 1 Future Looks Bright

The young Argentine driver Franco Colapinto has made a good impression in his Formula 1 debut and is considered a serious candidate to secure a position in a team for the 2025 season. One of the possibilities is Sauber, which has already announced the date it will reveal its second driver.

Colapinto has stood out with several outstanding performances in Williams, accumulating five points so far (four in Azerbaijan and one in the United States). However, for 2025 he will not continue with that team, as it has been confirmed that the drivers will be Thai Alexander Albon and Spaniard Carlos Sainz Jr.

The situation places Colapinto in uncertainty regarding his future in Formula 1 for next year, although he has serious chances of joining Sauber. Despite being the team with the worst results in the current season, Sauber has a solid future projection with the transition to Audi starting in 2026, promising to be a competitive team.

During the United States Grand Prix, where Colapinto made a notable comeback to finish in tenth position, team principal Mattia Binotto announced that the second driver of Sauber would be revealed "in mid-November." The decision is expected to be made public between the Brazilian Grand Prix and the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

In addition to Colapinto, other options considered by Sauber include Finnish Valtteri Bottas, Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto, leader of the Formula 2 championship, and German Mick Schumacher, son of Michael Schumacher and current third driver at Mercedes. Should he join Sauber in 2025, Colapinto would face a challenge due to the team's lack of points in the current season, although he envisions an opportunity starting in 2026 with the transformation to Audi.
