After a standout performance at the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas, where he scored a point, Argentine driver Franco Colapinto was praised by Williams. The British team congratulated Colapinto on social media for the valuable point he contributed by finishing in tenth place.
Colapinto had qualified in seventeenth position, but after George Russell's pit lane start and a penalty for Liam Lawson, he started in fifteenth place. Despite this, he managed to score a point, placing him in the drivers' standings with 5 points, tying with Esteban Ocon. This position also helps Williams distance itself from Alpine in the constructors' standings, occupying ninth place.
This is not the first time Williams has recognized Colapinto's performance, as they previously celebrated his eighth place at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, where the Argentine secured his first four points in Formula 1.
Colapinto's next challenge will be the Mexican Grand Prix, which will take place on Sunday, October 27, at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City. After this race, the Formula 1 calendar will continue with Brazil, Las Vegas, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi.
