Trungelliti, who entered the main draw from the qualifiers, defeated the talented Frenchman 4-6, 6-3, and 6-4 in a match that lasted 2 hours and 35 minutes. In this way, the Argentine continues one of his best weeks, as he also secured a place in the top 100 for the first time in his career at the age of 36, becoming the oldest player to achieve this feat in half a century. On his way to this stage, Trungelliti had defeated Czech Hynek Barton and Japanese Rei Sakamoto in the qualifiers, while in the main draw he beat Portuguese Henrique Rocha and Polish Kamil Majchrzak (5th seed). Thanks to this great week at the Moroccan tournament, Trungelliti secured a spot in the top 90 of the ATP rankings and could even finish close to the top 60 if he pulls off a major surprise and wins the title. He will not have an easy time in the semifinals, as it became known from the Argentine News Agency, he will face Italian Luciano Darderi, who is the top seed of the tournament and is also well-rested, as his rival in the quarterfinals, German Yannick Hanfmann, withdrew from the match. The semifinal between Trungelliti and Darderi will be this Saturday at 9:00 AM (Argentina time). The other tennis player who secured a place among the top four of the tournament was Spanish Rafael Jodar, who was leading Frenchman Alexandre Müller 6-2, 2-0 when the latter retired due to injury. Additionally, Argentine Camilo Ugo Carabelli is already facing Frenchman Luca Van Assche in the last quarterfinal match.
