Ex-Racing President Víctor Blanco Expresses Anger at New Leadership Decision

Buenos Aires, Feb 8 (NA) – Víctor Blanco, former president of Racing, expressed his anger after the current leadership, led by Diego Milito, removed his box to relocate him to another sector of the stadium, and stated that the measure was "a lack of respect". When asked about the situation, Blanco clarified that the box "was always paid for, even during the pandemic." In an interview with El Gráfico, he added and challenged them: "Let's see if they (the current leadership) are now paying for the VIP boxes and boxes that are used." Finally, he stated that the decision is "a sign of the little respect they have for the institutional part." In turn, the current leadership of Racing officially explained that the relocation of Blanco's box, to whom they also assigned a parking space outside the stadium on Diego Milito Street, is due to "a general reorganization linked to sponsors." Blanco was president of Racing from 2014 to 2024, and according to the Argentine News Agency, he had the box since 1998. During that period, the "Academy" was able to stop fighting for relegation and even won several titles: the 2014 Transition Tournament, the 2019 Superliga, the 2019 and 2022 Champions Trophy, the 2023 International Super Cup, and the 2024 South American Cup. During Blanco's tenure, Milito held the position of technical secretary and was key in assembling the squads that won the Superliga and the 2019 Champions Trophy, although their relationship ended in the worst possible way and led to the former striker's resignation at the end of 2020.
