Pumas 7s Secure Two Wins in Perth

The Argentine rugby sevens team, 'Pumas 7s', wrapped up Sunday with two victories over France and Spain at the Perth Sevens, the fourth leg of the World Rugby Sevens Series. The team first secured a resounding 47-12 win over France. This commanding performance was largely due to the early red card shown to French player Andy Timon in the 3rd minute for a dangerous tackle on Marcos Moneta. In a much closer match, Argentina also defeated Spain 24-19, seeking revenge for their loss on Saturday. Tries were scored by Pedro De Haro (twice), Gregorio Pérez Pardo, Marcos Moneta, Santiago Vera Feld, Valentín Maldonado, and Juan Patricio Batac. The Pumas 7s will now prepare for the next tournament leg, taking place from March 7-8 in Vancouver, Canada, a venue where the Argentine team has been crowned champion in each of the last four editions.
