Boca's probable lineup to face Vélez

Boca Juniors' head coach Claudio Úbeda has reportedly decided on the starting lineup for this Sunday's away match against Vélez Sarsfield at the José Amalfitani stadium for the fourth round of the Apertura tournament. Forced to make changes due to recent injuries to several players, the most notable modification is the return of Miguel Merentiel, who has recovered from a calf strain that sidelined him since the preseason. Without Ander Herrera or Exequiel Zeballos and with a depleted attack, 'Sifón' is expected to bet on the return of the Uruguayan forward to pair up with youngster Gonzalo Gelini in a clear 4-4-2 formation. Following the same line, Úbeda would opt to start Kevin Zenón due to the absence of 'Changuito' (who has a grade 2-3 muscle injury in his left hamstring), who would occupy the left flank of the midfield, while Santiago Ascacibar would do the same on the right. Meanwhile, the absence of the Spanish midfielder complicated the blue-and-gold coach, who had to choose between Milton Delgado and Tomás Belmonte. Finally, the 20-year-old midfielder would get the nod over the former Lanús player and partner Leandro Paredes in the double pivot. Lastly, the defensive line would be as remembered: Agustín Marchesín in goal, Juan Barinaga as right-back, Lautaro Blanco as left-back, and Lautaro Di Lollo and Ayrton Costa as the central pairing. Boca will visit Vélez this Sunday at 22:15 at the José Amalfitani in search of a third victory in the local championship.
