Rosario Challenger 125 Matches Suspended Due to Weather

The Thursday session of the Rosario Challenger 125 had to be suspended due to inclement weather. According to Argentine News Agency, two matches were left incomplete: that of Camilo Ugo Carabelli (48th) against Facundo Díaz Acosta (301st), and that of Hugo Dellien (149th) with Juan Manuel La Serna (386th). The session, which had already been delayed for three hours in the afternoon, was postponed due to electrical storms. The public had to leave the stands of the Challenger de Rosario earlier than expected, as the session was suspended due to rain. With strict rules against continuing play under electrical activity, even if rain was not present, play had already been paused in the afternoon, just 20 minutes after the start of the first match. The pauses were announced by an alarm sound, with the order to evacuate all spectators to the covered area of the restaurant "La Dulce", located within the Rosario Jockey Club. When the first pause ended and people could leave the temporary shelter, that is when the rain began, which had already hit Rosario at noon and did so again with high intensity. The precipitation prevented play from resuming until 8:30 PM, after the matches were reorganized, although the weather influenced events again at midnight. It was exactly at 12:00 AM on Friday when the alarm sounded again, interrupting the aforementioned matches: Ugo Carabelli and Díaz Acosta were about to start the third set, with a score of 5-7 and 6-4, while La Serna had lost the first set 6-3 to the Bolivian Dellien and was trailing 0-1 in the second. With the suspension of the day, the matches will be continued on Friday.
