Argentina Announces Futsal Squad for Copa América

The Argentine futsal team has confirmed its roster for the 2026 Copa América. Head coach Matías Lucuix announced the 14 players who will travel to Asunción on Thursday, January 22, aiming to be protagonists once again of the continent's most important tournament. The team will depart from Aeroparque at 13:30 and will debut on Sunday, January 25, against Peru in Group A, which also includes Paraguay, Uruguay, and Ecuador. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals, to be held entirely at the COP Arena Óscar Harrison. Argentina arrives as one of the favorites, having been champion in 2022 and runner-up in 2024 in the two previous editions held in Paraguay. Five players will be making their official debut with the senior national team. Notably, Luciano Gauna, a current player for Barcelona, was excluded from the squad for personal reasons. After the tournament, Lukas Acosta and Lucas Granda will head to Europe to join their new Spanish clubs, Peñíscola and Barcelona, respectively.
