A French national died this Monday while climbing Mount Aconcagua, located at 6,700 meters above sea level. According to local media, the body of Guillaume Ferey died at “La Cueva,” a point near the summit of the “Roof of America.” The guide accompanying the foreigner alerted the authorities when he observed that he had lost consciousness, which is why the Rescue Patrol and the medical staff of the Condor Service carried out an emergency operation. Health professionals and the guide performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers, but confirmed the death of Ferey. In this regard, the prosecutor on duty, Ricardo Iturbide, ordered that the body be lifted from midnight to be transferred to the Gran Acarreo, an extraction area located at 6,000 meters, around 8:30.
