Argentine rider Luciano Benavides (Red Bull KTM) had a very good performance in Stage 10 of the Dakar Rally, where he finished in third place and climbed to second place in the general classification.

Benavides, who wants to make history by winning his first Dakar Rally, recorded a time of 4 hours, 19 minutes, and 47 seconds in the stage, which had a total of 420 kilometers, of which 368 were timed. This time allowed him to finish third in the stage, just four minutes and four seconds behind the winner, Frenchman Adrien Van Beveren.

In the general classification, Benavides climbed to second place, as Australian Adam Sanders (Red Bull KTM), who was leading, suffered a heavy fall, lost several positions, and was left with practically no chances of fighting for the title. According to the Argentine News Agency, the new leader of the general classification is American Ricky Brabec (Honda), although he is only 56 seconds ahead of Benavides with three stages to go in one of the most demanding competitions in the world of motorsport.

Stage 11 of the Dakar Rally will take place this Thursday and will consist of an extensive 883-kilometer route between Bisha and Al Henakiyah.
