Arsenal crushed Portsmouth 4-1 away and advanced to the fourth round of the FA Cup, in a match held at Fratton Park. According to the Argentine News Agency, with two goals in each half, the 'Gunners' secured their qualification to the next phase and continue their excellent form, which also places them at the top of the Premier League with 49 points, six ahead of Manchester City, the championship's runner-up. Although the team led by Mikel Arteta started behind on the scoreboard with a goal from Colby Bishop at the 3rd minute, an own goal from Andre Dozzell made it 1-1 and boosted the visiting side, who managed to seal the match thanks to Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli. First, the 24-year-old forward made it 2-0 in the 25th minute of the first half, then rose above the defense and headed in to make it 2-1. Arsenal could have gone with a bigger advantage at halftime, but Noni Magueke missed his penalty. However, the player from São Paulo dispelled all doubts with two more goals in the second half at the 6th and 27th minutes respectively, to secure the 'Gunners' passage to the fourth round of the FA Cup. For now, the London team will face Chelsea in the EFL Cup semi-finals next Wednesday at 17:00 to go in search of a place in the final and a new title.
