The sixth stage of the Dakar 2026 Rally left Argentine pilots well-positioned before the rest day, with Luciano Benavides consolidating his place on the overall motorcycle podium and showing a strong presence in several categories, despite a long day marked by penalties and navigation difficulties.
In the motorcycle category, the stage victory went to American Ricky Brabec after a six-minute penalty was applied to Australian Daniel Sanders, who had been the fastest on the track.
In this context, Luciano Benavides finished sixth in the stage between Ha'il and Riyadh and remains third in the general classification, just over ten minutes behind the leader. The Salta native, winner of the previous stage, maintained a regular performance on his KTM and will head into the break with expectations to continue the fight in the second week.
Nacho Cornejo also appeared in the top ten of the stage, while in the general classification, the Chilean from the Hero team completes the top five, although a significant disadvantage distances him from the direct fight for victory.
In Rally2, the spotlight was once again on Michael Docherty, although Argentine activity saw Santiago Rostan in 26th place and Leonardo Cola in 42nd place on the stage. Both continue to compete in a category dominated by American Brock Heger.
With the sixth stage completed, the Dakar 2026 enters its only rest day, with several Argentines still well-positioned and with room to seek advances in the second half of the race. Both continue to gain experience in one of the most demanding editions of the Dakar.
There was also an Argentine presence in Future Mission 1000, where Benjamín Pascual finished third in the stage on the Segway electric motorcycle and remains second in the general classification, just five points behind the leading Spanish trio Juvanteny-Criado-Ribas.
In SSV, Manuel Andújar was eighth in the stage and seventh in the general classification, while Jeremías González Ferioli finished eleventh in the partial and occupies the ninth overall place.
