In Dubai, the sixteenth edition of the Globe Soccer Awards took place on Sunday. The event was attended by prominent figures from world football and other sports, such as Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic. According to Agencia Noticias Argentinas, the highlight of the evening was French PSG forward Ousmane Dembélé, who was named Player of the Year after winning the 2025 Champions League. Meanwhile, young Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal received the Maradona award for his technical skill and his ability to dazzle with the ball at his feet. At the same time, Luis Enrique was voted Coach of the Year, and PSG was named Club of the Year, while Portugal was recognized as the best national team. On the other hand, Cristiano Ronaldo won the award for Best Middle Eastern Player and was the one who presented the trophy to Djokovic, the world's former No. 1 and the all-time record holder for Grand Slam titles (10 Australian Open, 3 Roland Garros, 7 Wimbledon, and 4 US Open).

The 2025 Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai named Ousmane Dembélé the footballer of the year. Awards also went to Luis Enrique (Coach of the Year), PSG (Club of the Year), and the Portugal national team (National Team of the Year). A special award for his contribution to sports was given to tennis player Novak Djokovic.
