But Nottingham Forest did not back down, as just five minutes later they equalized thanks to Hutchinson's finish. Finally, City took the victory with Cherki's goal, in the 83rd minute, who found himself inside the area after Norwegian striker Erling Haaland brought the ball down and set it up perfectly against the right post of the goal defended by Brazilian John. This good win allowed Manchester City to reach 40 points and stay two points behind leader Arsenal, who on Saturday beat Brighton 2-1 at home. Nottingham Forest, for its part, remained with 18 points and is 17th, in a very difficult position in the relegation zone.
