Franco Vivian secures pole position for final TC2000 round in Argentina

In Junín, Argentina, the twelfth and final race of the 46th Argentine TC2000 Championship took place. The main protagonist of the qualifying session was Franco Vivian (Chevrolet Tracker), who set the best time and secured the pole position. This is his fourth pole position of the 2025 season and the second in a row.

The 36-year-old driver from Buenos Aires recorded a time of 1m22.672, outpacing Marcelo Ciarrocchi (Toyota Corolla) by 0.478 seconds, who once again qualified second, repeating his position from the previous race. In third place was Leonel Pernía (Honda ZR-V), 0.598 seconds behind in his farewell as the number one, followed by Matías Rossi (Toyota Corolla Cross) in fourth, 0.642 seconds behind.

With the three points from his fourth-place finish, Rossi extended his lead in the championship from 17 to 20 points over Stang, with exactly 20 points still at stake. This means that "El Misil" only needs to score one point (finish at least tenth) in the final to secure his sixth TC2000 title, regardless of what his teammate does.

The final promises to be tense, as the grid will be formed by inverting the top six qualifiers: Emiliano Stang and Gabriel Ponce de León will start on the front row, while Rossi will start third. TC2000 action will continue on Sunday with the "Tanques Llenos" race at 9:00, followed by a decisive race that will crown the champion in a season full of emotion.
