Colapinto finishes last in Qatar Sprint

Buenos Aires, November 29 (NA) – After finishing last in the Sprint race for the Qatar 2025 Grand Prix, Argentine Alpine driver Franco Colapinto pointed to the speed of his car.

“We are not fast, and that is the most frustrating... we overheated the tires too much and it doesn't go. The track is very tricky, there is gravel and the cars slide a lot, it's a circuit with a lot of vibration up front, that's why it was quite difficult,” stated the Pilar-born driver in his post-race statement, as reported by the Argentine News Agency.

Additionally, the driver made a critical analysis of his performance at the Losail International Circuit: “Unfortunately, I started behind Lance Stroll, and I was going very slow the whole lap and stayed behind the Aston Martin, so I couldn't do a clean lap”.

“I think it was very positive to learn from this,” Franco Colapinto concluded.

Despite the complicated performance shown in the Sprint, the young Argentine driver is convinced that the team will be able to improve for the main race of the weekend.

From Alpine, they acknowledge that they still need to adjust several aspects of the car to regain competitiveness in a championship that is moving at great speed.

The result in Losail once again highlighted the lack of pace of the A525, an issue that Colapinto has been dragging since the first dates of the season.

With no points this time, the immediate challenge will be to find solutions that allow, at least, to fight in the middle of the pack.

Looking ahead, the Argentine trusts that the detailed analysis of the data and the engineers' night work will bring clarity to correct the course.

Although the points drought continues, Colapinto assured that he is not losing motivation and that his goal remains the same: to get closer to the points-scoring positions and consolidate himself in Formula 1.
