Chelsea Beats Burnley to Climb to Second in Premier League

London, November 22 — Chelsea defeated Burnley 2-0 at Turf Moor in the 12th round of the English Premier League. With this victory, the team led by Italian head coach Enzo Maresca moved up to second place in the championship table with 23 points. In the first half, the Blues deployed a solid offensive strategy that disrupted their opponent's defensive lines. Although the rival's defense focused on collective marking, they could not neutralize the individual brilliance. At the 37-minute mark, Maresca's team opened the scoring. Pedro Neto headed the ball into the net from inside the penalty area, surprising Slovak goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka. In the second half, the visiting team returned to the pitch with the same attitude they showed during the first 45 minutes. The "Clever Trees" (Nottingham Forest's nickname) scored three goals through Murillo Santiago Costa dos Santos, Nicolò Savona, and Morgan Gibbs-White. Consequently, Liverpool lost 3-0 at home and dropped to 11th place, missing out on European competition. In other weekend matches, Wolves lost 2-0 to Crystal Palace, Brighton beat Brentford 2-1, Bournemouth drew 2-2 with West Ham United, and Fulham defeated Sunderland 1-0. The remaining fixture is Newcastle vs. Manchester City.
