Argentine Clausura Regular Season Concludes

The regular phase of the Torneo Clausura has concluded, and the teams qualified for the 2025 Copa Libertadores and Sudamericana have been determined by the annual table of the Professional League. However, it is still yet to be seen who will be the champion of the tournament. According to the Argentine News Agency, Rosario Central and Boca Juniors have secured their participation in the next edition of the continent's most prestigious competition, along with Platense (champion of the Torneo Apertura) and Independiente Rivadavia (winner of the Copa Argentina). Argentinos Juniors will play in the preliminary round if no spots are freed up. For now, River would be playing in the Sudamericana, but if they manage to win the Clausura, they will have access to the group stage of the Libertadores. Otherwise, the 'Guapo' will use that spot. Qualified for the 2026 Copa Libertadores: Platense – Champion of the Torneo Apertura. Independiente Rivadavia – Champion of the Copa Argentina. Rosario Central – First in the annual table. Boca – Second in the annual table. Argentinos Juniors – Third in the annual table (preliminary round). Qualified for the 2026 Copa Sudamericana: River – Fourth in the annual table. Racing – Fifth in the annual table. Deportivo Riestra – Sixth in the annual table. San Lorenzo – Seventh in the annual table. Lanús – Eighth in the annual table. Meanwhile, if 'Canalla', 'Boca' or 'Bicho' win, they will participate in the Playoffs. For its part, in addition to 'Millonario', Racing, Deportivo Riestra, San Lorenzo, Lanús, and Tigre are qualified for the second-tier international competition. However, if Granate becomes champion of the current edition, it will free up an additional spot for said tournament, which Barracas Central will take by occupying the tenth place in the LPF. Likewise, if the winner of the local championship comes from the first nine of the table, it will also free up a spot for Independiente (11th) to have its place in the Sudamericana, provided that Lanús manages to win the international title.
