Argentine Rugby Union Updates Educational Program

The Argentine Rugby Union (UAR) announced a comprehensive update to its educational program for clubs, aiming to improve the training and development of grassroots rugby in the country.

The "Conecta Rugby" program, part of the UAR's Development area, operates with a professional team and a network of tutors certified by World Rugby. Each tutor must undergo annual training and receives support to maintain unified pedagogical standards.

The modernization of "Conecta Rugby" will include a simpler and more user-friendly platform, designed to enhance the experience for its nearly 140,000 registered users. Additionally, in 2026, the "Rugby Director" course will be launched, replacing the "Sports Secretary" role and incorporating virtual modules and in-person meetings. This position will be key to supporting coaches and ensuring the implementation of the club's guidelines.

Among the program's new features are new modules for female rugby and mixed mini rugby coaches. These contents will be added to the existing "Level 1" and "Mini Rugby" courses, which are the most in-demand and have been mandatory since 2024 for coaching pre-junior, junior, and senior teams.

Martín Gaitán, the program's coordinator at the UAR, highlighted that "the goal for 2026 is to strengthen Conecta Rugby as an inclusive and accessible development tool for all clubs in the country". Furthermore, there is ongoing monitoring of courses and virtual and in-person activities to assess their impact on the clubs.
