Argentina to Face Wales in Test Match

The Argentine national rugby team, known as the Pumas, will visit Wales this Sunday in a test match marking the start of their final tour of the year. The match will kick off at 12:10 PM at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, a venue with a capacity of 74,500 spectators, and will be available to watch on Disney+ Premium and ESPN 2. The Pumas, coached by Argentine rugby legend Felipe Contepomi, a hero of the historic bronze medal at the 2007 Rugby World Cup in France, come off a solid Rugby Championship where they finished fourth but secured valuable victories against Australia and New Zealand. Prior to their participation in the tournament featuring the four powers of the Southern Hemisphere, the Pumas defeated the British & Irish Lions and Uruguay in friendly matches, while losing twice to England. Wales, for its part, had a disastrous start to the year, finishing in the sixth and last place of the Six Nations, where they couldn't even secure a single win. Following the tournament that brings together Europe's best national teams, the Welsh side played two friendly matches in July against Japan, with a record of one win and one loss. This will be the twenty-third encounter between the two teams, with Wales leading the historical series with 14 wins, while the Pumas have won seven times and drawn once. However, the last time they met was in the quarter-finals of the 2023 Rugby World Cup, where the Pumas achieved a historic victory thanks to a near-perfect second half to win 29-17 and advance to the semi-finals.
