María Catarineu, Franco Colapinto's manager, expressed her joy at the confirmation that the Argentine will race for Alpine in 2026 and stated that “the opportunity Franco deserved has arrived”. When asked about the joy this news brought her, Catarineu joked about the number Colapinto uses to compete: “From 0 to 100, it's 43”. She also added that “we are not going to disappoint anyone and we are going for it all”.
Catarineu was key in the negotiations for the Argentine to continue in Formula 1 in 2026, where he will continue to race for the French Alpine team. Although it is currently the worst team on the grid, it is optimistic about the engine change to Mercedes, the hours of wind tunnel time it will have, and the improvements it is working on.
This news comes in the middle of the Brazilian Grand Prix, where Colapinto will be seeking his first points of the season.
