Los Pumas Squad for November Test Matches

The Argentina national rugby union team, Los Pumas, has finalized the squad for the final matches of the 2025 season during the demanding November international window. Felipe Contepomi announced the squad for test matches against Wales, Scotland, and England, following a training camp held in the United Kingdom. This will be the team's final stop after participating in The Rugby Championship, with a squad that combines key returns, young players seeking to solidify their places, and several forced absences due to injury. Among the notable returns is Matías Alemanno, who rejoins the squad for the first time this year after a long period of inactivity. The second-row forward from Córdoba, with 98 caps, has not played since November 2024 when Argentina defeated Italy in Udine. Thomas Gallo and Efraín Elías also return, with Gallo fully recovered from his injury and Elías last called up in March. Conversely, Tomás Albornoz, Gonzalo García, Joel Sclavi, Lucio Cinti, Franco Molina, Pedro Rubio, and Benjamín Grondona were ruled out due to various ailments. Contepomi stated that the chosen squad reflects "performance, present needs, and the necessity for rotation" in a window that will also serve to deepen the playing identity the coaching staff is seeking. The matches against the United Kingdom teams will not only solidify the end of an irregular year but also determine Argentina's final position in the World Rugby rankings for the draw for the 2027 Rugby World Cup in December.
