AFA President Tapia hints at referee incompetence

The president of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Claudio Fabián 'Chiqui' Tapia, posted an enigmatic tweet on his profile in which he claims that someone “wanted to be a referee, chose the wrong profession.” This post generated mystery and doubts about who the recipient is, as there is no clear indication to deduce it. “Luckily he didn't make it, that's why so much frustration,” was what Tapia published, ending the tweet with “1996, Atlanta.” This comes after what was a controversial date of the Torneo Clausura where Barracas Central, a team watched sideways for its relationship with Tapia, beat Argentinos Juniors 2-0 with two extra players, and River's defeat to Gimnasia La Plata, with 9 minutes of added time in the second half and a dubious penalty that Colombian Miguel Borja missed.
