World Rafting Championship to be held in Argentina

The World Rafting Championship will be held in the Argentine province of Neuquén. The event will take place from November 3 to 9, 2025, in the town of Aluminé. Approximately 100 teams from different countries are expected to participate.

The championship will be held in the R4 discipline, with four athletes per raft. The Argentine national team will be represented by nine teams: three senior men's, three senior women's, and three senior mixed teams.

Competitions will be held on two rivers: the Aluminé and the Ruca Choroy. The Aluminé River, which is 170 kilometers long, features a significant altitude difference, starting at 1260 meters above sea level and ending at 820 meters. The Ruca Choroy River, measuring 56 kilometers, belongs to the Negro River basin.

Hosting the world championship will have a positive impact on sports and tourism in the region, showcasing its ideal conditions for river descents. This will be the second time the World Championship is held in Neuquén; the previous tournament took place in 2018, with the Argentine men's team finishing fifth and the mixed team finishing 15th.
