In his defense, Anello explained that he did not feel well at the time of the comments and that his original intention was to make a sports critique, although he acknowledged that the comparison he wanted to make came out wrong. He stated that he would continue to criticize Riquelme's management, but without resorting to offensive expressions.
"I am tired of being operated on, but I made a mistake. I'm going to continue being the same," Anello expressed, adding that he apologized to those who felt offended. He assured that he was feeling physically unwell at that moment, with kidney pains, which contributed to his unfortunate reaction.
