The Argentine driver Franco Colapinto was confirmed as the replacement for Jack Doohan at Alpine for the upcoming Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, where he will begin his second season in Formula 1. The young driver from Pilar participated in the last nine circuits of the 2024 season aboard the Williams, in place of American Logan Sargeant, where he showed great performance and secured a spot in the French team for the current campaign, due to the low performance of the Australian.
His long-awaited debut came at the Monza Grand Prix, where he finished in twelfth place after starting from eighteenth on the grid. Later, he faced the challenging circuit of Baku, Azerbaijan, but the Argentine driver seemed unaffected by the pressure or adversities and finished in eighth place, earning his first points in the “Maximum.”
From there, his performance remained quite consistent, except for the Grand Prix in Brazil, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi, where he failed to finish the race.
