The Argentine driver Franco Colapinto has been confirmed as the new full-time driver for Alpine, replacing Jack Doohan. The French team thanked the Australian driver for his professionalism on social media.
Colapinto will compete in the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix and will participate in the next five races as a test by Alpine, following the same pattern as Doohan. Alpine expressed its gratitude to Doohan for his dedication to the team through its Instagram account, highlighting his professionalism during his time with the team.
Jack Doohan, for his part, will continue with the team but as a reserve driver, a position previously held by Colapinto. Doohan bids farewell without having scored points for Alpine, with his last participation in the Miami Grand Prix, where he was forced to retire after an incident with Liam Lawson.
Alpine confirmed Colapinto's arrival as the new full-time driver with an image of the Argentine driver holding the Argentine flag. Colapinto will take Doohan's place in the next five races. His debut will be at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, which will take place on Sunday, May 18, at the Imola circuit, at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari racetrack.
