Dalma Maradona Responds to Gonzalo Valenzuela's Criticism

Dalma Maradona responded to the controversial statements made by Gonzalo Valenzuela about Diego Armando Maradona, the Argentines, and 'the hand of God.' The daughter of the Argentine star pointed out that Valenzuela dared to criticize her father so forcefully only because he is no longer present to defend himself.

In an interview with a local media outlet, Dalma expressed her surprise upon learning about Valenzuela's comments, initially confused by the uproar they caused. The media figure recalled a past incident where the Chilean actor was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and mentioned this fact to question the criticisms directed at her father.

'I don’t understand where this idea comes from to blame my dad for all of Argentina's problems. I don’t know this man, he’s not someone I admire for his work. He criticized Argentines for criticizing, it’s not even something against my father,' declared Dalma Maradona. She added that, in her opinion, the 'hand of God' goal is also related to the Falklands War, suggesting that Gonzalo Valenzuela may not be aware of this historical context and its implications.
