Cerúndolo Achieves Career-Best ATP Ranking

Argentinian tennis player Francisco Cerúndolo has had a successful series of tournaments in his South American tour, starting with the Argentina Open where he was a finalist, reaching the quarter-finals in Rio de Janeiro and reaching the semi-finals in Santiago, Chile. These results allowed him to accumulate important points that highlighted his performance compared to the previous year.

In March, Cerúndolo continued his good momentum by reaching the quarter-finals in the Masters of Indian Wells and Miami, although he fell to Carlos Alcaraz and Grigor Dimitrov respectively. However, he had a setback in the Montecarlo Masters 1000, facing Alcaraz in the second round after defeating Fabio Fognini.

In the European Masters of the season, Cerúndolo had an excellent performance, defeating prominent players such as Alexander Zverev and Jakub Mensik, before falling in the semi-finals to the eventual champion Casper Ruud. He currently ranks 18th in the ATP ranking, the highest position of his career so far.

For Cerúndolo, participating in the Rome tournament represents an opportunity to continue growing in the ranking, as he has few points to defend. His debut will be in the 32nd finals, facing the winner between Nicolás Jarry and Hugo Gaston.

The Argentine has shown an outstanding level of play in recent months, achieving positive results and good sensations. After adding Uruguayan Pablo Cuevas to his team as a second coach, Cerúndolo has demonstrated significant growth in his performance. Despite some setbacks, such as in the Montecarlo Masters, Cerúndolo has continued to advance in his career and set new milestones in his sports journey.
